Grow Well Live Well is a team of Palmerston community members and local services working together to improve support for our children, young people and their families.
We are a collective impact initiative. Our team members come from different backgrounds to work together on a common agenda to empower and amplify the voices of Palmerston’s young people.
We use data and evidence to work with the Palmerston community to identify and prioritise what is important to our children, young people and their families. This helps local services work better with each other and the community.
Grow Well Live Well began in 2014 when a group of community and government organisations started working together in a new way.
We agreed that no community organisation or government department has all the answers and that we need to work together to achieve change.
We also agreed that a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work, and a place-based solution needs to be led by the Palmerston community.
How we work
Three Action Groups work to improve support for young people.
We are transitioning to a community-led model. Community organisations are supporting this process as part of a Transition Leadership Group.
Naomi supports collaboration in Palmerston including the work of our Action Groups, Transition Leadership Group and local collaboration projects.
Acknowledgement to the owners of the land
Grow Well Live Well acknowledges the Larrakia people, the traditional owners of Palmerston and pay our respects to past, present and emerging Larrakia elders. We also acknowledge the First Nations people from other parts of the Northern Territory and Australia who live, work and contribute to the Palmerston Community.
